How to make paper puppets

Use your imagination and create your own puppet!
Have some fun creating your own puppets. These are really easy to make and what’s even more important really fun to play with afterwards! Ready to make your own puppet? Let’s get started.
Supplies
- Colored Paper/Cardstock
- Sharpies
- Scissors
- Glue Stick
- Anna's Art Paper puppet kit (optional)
Reindeer or Snowman puppet

NOTE: if you are using Anna's Art Paper Puppet Kit (the sheet is pre-folded & all pieces are included), skip to Step 2.
Step 1
Fold along all the dashed lines on the sheet with the puppet. Make sure the folds are crisp.
Step 2
Apply glue (from top to bottom) on the side that has the word glue on it.

Step 3
Fold the left flap over and press down for the glue to set.

Step 4
Now fold the puppet into half.

Step 5
Now fold the puppet into a M shape.

Step 6
Unfold and lay flat. Apply glue and stick on the accessories and/or draw on any features.

Insert your fingers into the puppet and have fun!

Penguin puppet

NOTE: if you are using Anna's Art Paper Puppet Kit (the shape is pre-cut/pre-folded & all pieces are included), skip to Step 4.
Step 1
Fold along all the dashed lines on the sheet with the puppet. Make sure the folds are crisp.
Step 2
Fold in half.

Step 3
Fold both sides outwards, into a M shape.

Step 4
Unfold and lay flat. Apply glue and stick on the accessories.

Step 5
Fold the ends of the paper strips (finger straps) and apply glue on the outside of the folded part.

Step 6
Turn the puppet over, Glue the finger straps down on the middle sections of the back of the puppet. (See diagram above)

Insert your fingers into the finger straps at the back of the puppet and have fun!

So it’s been quite the year, with the current situation taking a toll on the world. But that said, I have to say how grateful I am … so lucky to have food, shelter and a job and all my friends and family are safe and virus free. Now that it’s Christmas, I am so grateful to be able to spend a bit of time with my family and friends before we are all under lockdown again.
